How to Sign up and Set Up a Seller account on Fiverr
Fiverr is one of the largest freelance platforms to sell online services. It was founded in 2010 by Micha Kaufman and his companions in Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel. It’s a non-traditional freelance marketplace where sellers enlist their services and buyers visit to buy them. The service that is listed on Fiverr is known as a gig. In today’s article, I will explain step by step process of creating a Fiverr seller account, remember this guide is for absolute beginners, who are looking forward to starting their career as Fiverr freelancers.
To set up Seller Account on
Fiverr follow these steps: -
Visit Fiverr Official Website: Go
to www.fiverr.com,
Click on the “Become a Seller” tab to register yourself as a Fiverr seller.
Become a Fiverr Seller:
After clicking “Become a Seller” a new screen will pop up, where you will see
four options to register as a Fiverr freelancer.
- With Google ID (Gmail Account)
- With Email Address
- With Apple ID
- With Facebook ID
From all four methods, I will
suggest signing up using an email address.
Register with an Email: In the
email box write down the email address that you are going to use for your
Fiverr account and in the password text box enter your password. Remember the
password must have one Capital letter and one numeric character and not less
than 8 words. After this click on continue.
Choose Username: Now
write your username, if it will be available a green tick will appear in front
of your username. If it is not available try another one. Always write a short name that people can
remember because with the help of your username buyers can find you on Fiverr.
Now click on “Create my account”.
Confirm Email Address: An
activation code will be sent by Fiverr to your email address to verify your
email address. Go to your email and copy the code sent by Fiverr and paste it
into the boxes as shown in the picture below and then click submit.
After entering the
correct code and submitting it to Fiverr, on the next page, Fiverr will ask you “Are you Buying services” or
“selling services”. You can select either one or both options or even can skip
to choose it later. So, I will select “Selling freelance services”.
In the next step, four options
will prompt in front of you
- A side Hustle
- Solo Freelancer
- Agency Employee
- Agency Owner
A side Hustle: It
means you are working as a part-time freelancer.
Solo Freelancer: A
freelancer that works full-time without anyone else contribution.
Agency Employee: It
means you are an employee of any agency that is already providing services on
Fiverr.
Agency Owner: It
means you are going to register your agency and you are the owner of that
agency.
Here I am going to register
myself as a “Solo Freelancer”. Select solo freelancer and then click on next.
After this an overview window
will open, just click on “Continue”. A new page will open, again click on
“Continue”. Once again click on continue.
Personal Info
Now enter your personal information:-
- Full Name: Enter your full name as on your ID card.
- Display Name: It may be your nickname or your first name.
- Profile Picture: Add your Profile Picture or logo.
- Description: Write a comprehensive description of your expertise, services and experience.
- Languages: Select the languages that you know.
Professional Info
Now enter your professional information like; Occupation, Skills, Education, Certification and Personal Website.
Linked Accounts
In the next step, you have to
connect your social media accounts with Fiverr to accomplish your profile. When
you will click on connect the accounts with Fiverr a verified tick will appear
in front of each account. Now you can click on continue to proceed further.
Account Security
For your account security, you
have to add your phone number. The purpose of adding a phone number is to save
your account from hacking and make sure that you are the owner of this account.
After verifying your phone number,
you have successfully set up your Fiverr seller account. Now the next step is
to start selling services by creating a gig.
